I am glad your grandmother is all right. I lost both my grandmother a few years ago and I envy you for being able to enjoy the company of yours.

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving much where I come from, and we don't celebrate Thanksgiving at all where I live now. In Québec, it is much earlier in the year (early October) because of earlier harvest times. It just means one free day. I guess it must be nice to have the day in November. I am always amazed to see how significant it is to the Americans. For me, it is mainly a good Charlie Brown episode (from which I got most of what I know of the holiday).

Great talking to you too! Thanks.

Around these parts, you have to take the "awww" with the funny. It's part of my bipolar charm.

It seems that's how life is. I was going to drop back in as a rich and skinny doctor. And then as a rich and skinny lawyer. Then as a happy mother.

Now I drop in as a crippled unpublished writer. But oddly enough, I'm happier in this skin than I think I would have been in any of those tv-happy false dreams of someone else's.

I'm thankful for knowing you. :-p

Awwww, that's a sweet and lovely way to look at it! Thanks. (I kind of doubt you're right, but I'd rather let this be my chosen reality.)

No--you totally made the guy's day. He's going to go home to his non-observant (or observant, guess it doesn't really matter) girl and he's going to have this little smile because of something awesome someone noticed and said about him. It would work for me.
