I lost both my grandmother a few years ago and I envy you for being able to enjoy the company of yours. We don't celebrate Thanksgiving much where I come from, and we don't celebrate Thanksgiving at all where I live now. In Québec, it is much earlier in the year (early October) because of earlier harvest times. It just means one free day. I guess it must be nice to have the day in November. I am always amazed to see how significant it is to the Americans. For me, it is mainly a good Charlie Brown episode (from which I got most of what I know of the holiday). But oddly enough, I'm happier in this skin than I think I would have been in any of those tv-happy false dreams of someone else's. I'm thankful for knowing you. :-p It seems that’s how life is.
